Formed in Fire by Kim Ownbey Event Details :

In Formed in Fire, Andover lampwork glass artist Kim Ownbey transforms simple rods of glass into luminous, one-of-a-kind beads shaped by hand in the flame. Through precise control of heat, timing, and movement, she layers transparent and opaque colors to create depth and quiet complexity, capturing light within each form.
Ownbey pairs her handmade glass with thrifted, vintage, and antique elements, blending newly formed beads with materials that carry their own history. Presented in this library, her wearable art invites viewers to discover beauty, meaning, and connection preserved in glass.

Unsung Heroes Art Show Event Details :

Great change is often driven by people whose names rarely appear in textbooks. In this exhibition, Andover Middle School students set out to uncover those hidden figures—individuals whose courage, dedication, and quiet leadership strengthened communities and advanced ideas in lasting ways.
Through research and creative expression, students examined the ripple effect one determined person can have. Their work highlights a diverse range of contributors and invites viewers to reconsider how we define influence and achievement. Unsung Heroes celebrates both the remarkable individuals who shaped history behind the scenes and the thoughtful inquiry of students learning to see history from a broader perspective.
This show will be on display March 19th-April 16th in the Art Gallery.
