                  Who we are

The Friends of the Andover Public Library are a wonderful group of citizens in our community inter-woven with the library and the surrounding community. We help promote and support the library by fundraising, developing activities, presenting special programs and helping to fund the Summer reading program.

Friends contribute to the library in numerous ways:

  • Raise money primarily with:
    • Friends Memberships
    • Book sales (collecting, sorting and selling used books)
    • Friends book rack at the library
    • Online sales
    • Donations and memorials

  • The funds are used to support activities and programs such as:
    • Adult Classes, activities, crafts and seminars
    • Game Nights:  Bingo and Bunco nights
    • Wednesday morning Yoga, and Wednesday afternoon Mahjong
    • Special family events
    • Summer Reading program
    • Friends First Friday morning in the Friends room for crafts, games or conversations.
    • Spring Break events
    • Provide American Girl Dolls than can be checked out
    • Provide Whale drums located outside just west of the front doors of the library
    • Sponsor the Friends Community Room
