Declaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy Opening Reception Event Details :

Opening Reception: April 21st 6-7:30 PM in the Story Lab
It’s the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Do you know what’s in America’s founding document? Explore the exhibition to find out more and learn how the Declaration of Independence impacted the nation’s civil rights movement and women’s movement, as well as the establishment of democracy in other countries. A special addition to this exhibit is “Kansas 1776.” What was it like here, on the land that would become Kansas, 250 years ago? This special exhibition from the Kansas State Historical Society gives us a glimpse into life on this land in 1776. Enjoy the exhibit and be sure to take a free copy of the Declaration of Independence. This show will be up April 18th to May 17th.
