Showcasing Andover’s Heritage Through Your Eyes

What does Andover’s heritage mean to you? Maybe it’s an old photograph, an artsy tornado painting, a sketch of a train.
Whether you capture memories on canvas, through the lens, or in abstract form, we want to see your vision!

The contest is open to all student, amateur, or professional artists. We welcome submissions from artists of all levels. Local and area residents are welcome to participate!

Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division. Join us for an opening reception on Thursday, April 24, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Remarks at 6 p.m.

COMPETITION RULES & JUDGING

1. All artwork must be ready to hang. Frames are optional. Landscape or portrait format.

2. Work will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition and overall impact.

3. Please submit art to Andover Public Library by Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

4. All entries will be on display through May 21 and must be picked up within a week after the show. Any artwork that is not picked up by May 29 will be discarded.

5. HeritageFest and Andover Public Library are not responsible for late, lost damaged, destroyed or misdirected entries or for miscommunications, misdirected transmissions or other errors of any kind whether human or electronic in the competition entry process.

6. Artwork may be rejected if any of the following:

• Copyright Infringement: Artwork will be rejected if it infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

• Offensive Content: We cannot accept artwork that could be considered offensive, discriminatory, or that promotes hate speech.

•Safety Concerns: Any piece posing a safety hazard to viewers or staff will be disqualified. If such a situation arises, a gallery manager will contact you to arrange for the early pickup of your artwork.

7. All entries will be photographed and uploaded to Andover Public Library’s digital library.

HERITAGE FEST

This art show is a part of our newest event – Heritage Fest! Join us at The Heritage on Saturday, May 17, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. for food, music, activities, and more. The event is free and

Walk Andover Event Details :

March 31st-May 19th

The Andover Public Library is partnering with K-State Research and Extension to bring you a new program! Starting March 31st, we’ll kick off the program by meeting up at the Andover Public Library and take a walk around Andover Central Park. On March 31st and May 5th, we’ll have special educational sessions. This program is geared towards adults, but all ages are welcome to attend. There is no cost, and no registration required! At the end of the program, on May 19th, we will have an end of program celebration!
