In this engaging seminar, Dr. Sun Young Lee of Wichita State University will explore the tiger’s powerful presence in Korean culture—from ancient creation myths and classic folktales to its reinvention in K-pop, anime, and contemporary literature. Participants will discover how this enduring symbol has inspired centuries of storytelling and continues to resonate in today’s popular culture.

Guest Speaker Bio:
Dr. Sun Young Lee is an Associate Professor of Elementary Education at Wichita State University and serves as the column editor for diverse children’s literature and media in the Kansas English journal. Her work bridges literacy education, cultural relevance, and equity, with a focus on integrating diverse narratives into K–12 classrooms.
