Have you started any of our three reading challenges for 2022?
If you’re participating in the category-based reading challenge, either by using the tracking sheet or on Beanstack, we can help you find books in each of the categories.
Today we’re featuring books that include illustrations! For this reading challenge, feel free to read books in any genre (be it fiction, non-fiction, graphic novel, children’s, etc), but here are just a few books available to check out. These aren’t the only books we have available in this category but are ideas that can help you spark inspiration, help clarify the category, and (hopefully) make your decision easier.
Books with scattered illustrations

Tiny Tales / Eliza and Her Monsters / Temporary People / Everything, Everything
If you want more ideas, look into illustrated versions of your favorite classics (or classics you’ve been meaning to read). Also, don’t be afriad to go into the children’s section! Plenty of middle grade chapter books include illustrations throughout!
Books that merge illustrations with prose

Wonderstruck / A Monster Calls / Plain Bad Heroines / I am Princess X
All of these books use pictures throughout the book to help tell the story. Wonderstruck, for instance, tells half of the story in illistrations.
Wordless picture books
The Arrival / Journey / Tuesday / Every Little Kindness
If you want to read a book that is just pictures, here are a few books for you!
Graphic Novels

The Magic Fish / The Prince and the Dressmaker / Through the Woods / Blankets
If you are not used to graphic novels, there are plenty of graphic adaptations of classic books if you want a familiar story!
Check out more illustrated books here and remember that this is only a small list of the many illustrated books you can read for this challenge!
